Equipment for Potatoes and Root Crops

The Farm to Food Bank Program

Kenai Soil & Water purchased the three items below with a combination of grants from Kenai Peninsula Foundation, the Rasmuson Foundation and Western SARE (Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education).  The goals are three-fold: to increase farm efficiency, expand local production of root crops AND to increase donations of locally-produced food to the Kenai Peninsula Food Bank and its network of distribution points, for the lifetime of the equipment.

The daily rental rate for each piece of equipment is $25, plus 25 # of potatoes (or other root crops) donated directly to Kenai Peninsula Food Bank or one of its affiliated food pantries. Renters must strictly follow sanitation protocols to prevent the spread of potato diseases.
